Getting to Castlegate Car Park?

Travelling from the North:

Leave the A1 at the 'Safeway' Roundabout, sign posted Berwick. Continue on toward the town centre approaching Castlegate is an arch over the road. See the arch at nearby Scotsgate. Go through the Arch looking down the street (Marygate) at the bottom you will see the Spire of the Town Hall.

Just before the arch turn left into Somerfield Supermarket where you will find a large Municipal Car Park. You are now near the beginning of the walk. 

Travelling from the South:

Leave A1 at Sremerston roundabout sign, posted Berwick A 1167. Continue on the A1167 for some distance crossing over the Tweed River on the Royal Border Bridge. Over the Bridge around 100mtrs at the mini roundabout turn left (first exit). See arch over road immediately after at Somerfield Supermarket turn right where you will find a large Municipal Car Park. You are now near the beginning of the walk. See the arch at nearby Scotsgate. Go through the Arch looking down the street (Marygate) at the bottom you will see the Spire of the Town Hall.
